BASIC Expert conducted a comprehensive fire safety risk assessment and produced an expert report for this apartment complex. Our work addressed the numerous non-compliant fire safety elements, including external cladding, fire-rated construction, and penetrations in the building’s fire compartments. We developed practical strategies, such as the installation of compliant sprinkler systems and smoke-proof sealings of penetrations, to reduce fire risks to acceptable levels.
BASIC Expert continuously supported The client during the Building Appeals Board application process, ultimately contributing to the approval of the proposed works. This approval allowed certain as-built elements to remain, subject to the completion of remedial works. This outcome, achieved in collaboration with key stakeholders, highlights BASIC Expert’s expertise in providing evidence-based solutions to complex fire safety challenges while ensuring compliance and most importantly occupant safety.
