BASIC Expert conducted a risk assessment to determine the likelihood and consequence of fire spread through installed combustible cladding on the building and proposed a risk mitigation strategy involving sprinkler installation and ESM upgrades, as well as the rectification process involved in ensuring compliance with relevant requirements. We leveraged our expertise at the Building Appeals Board under s 160(2)(b) of the Building Act 1993 for determinations to secure a favourable decision to modify clauses C1.1, and C3.2 of the Building Code of Australia 2010, Volume One (BCA) applying to a Class 2, 6 and 7a building.
